Xiaomi SU7: Tech Giant Revamps the Automotive Landscape with its First Electric Sedan

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially unveiled its first foray into the automotive world with the Xiaomi SU7. The SU7 is a mid-size sedan that is expected to go on sale in China in the fourth quarter of 2023, making it a direct competitor to the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4.

The SU7 is powered by two powertrains a rear-wheel-drive version with 299hp on tap and a top speed of 210kmph, and a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive version with 673hp and a top speed of 265kmph. The car also features a number of advanced technologies, including a Level 2 autonomous driving system, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12-speaker audio system.

Design

The Xiaomi SU7 is 4997mm in length, 1963mm in width and the height is 1440mm. It weighs between 1,980 - 2,205 kg approximately. The front end of the car features a narrow grille with a horizontal LED light bar. The sides of the car are clean and uncluttered, while the rear end features a spoiler and a pair of LED taillights.

Interior

The interior of the Xiaomi SU7 is spacious and comfortable. The dashboard is dominated by a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The car also features a 12-speaker audio system and a number of storage compartments.
